Whitewater Rafting – Your whitewater adventure begins here
One of our favorite activities is whitewater rafting. The Ocoee River is just across the state line (less than 10 miles from Blue Ridge) and is definitely a must do while you are staying here. The Ocoee River offers world-class rapids for you experience.
But don’t fear, highly trained and experienced whitewater rafting guides will make sure you have a great adventure, safely. Get wet and wild whitewater rafting! Ask us which of our Blue Ridge cabin rentals are closest to the whitewater rafting area, so it will only be a short drive for you to go whitewater rafting.
Blue Ridge is the trout fishing capitol of Georgia. The cold, clear mountain streams and rivers invite you to try your hand at fly fishing and catch plenty of rainbow trout and other native trout species.
I always wanted to learn to fly fish before we moved here, and we were taught by one of the fly fishing guides here in Blue Ridge. Everyone except our youngest children has taken fly fishing lessons here.
For the more skilled fly fishermen (and women), you can hire a guide to take you on a fly fishing adventure to many public and private streams and rivers in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We have many riverfront cabins available for you to choose Riverfront Blue Ridge Cabin Rentals for your stay. Follow this link to discover more information about The Rivers.
One of the newest adventures up here in the North Georgia Mountains is zip-lining or canopy tours. I never thought that I would be one of the ones to experience this, I am afraid of heights. This summer, Ocoee River Basin Canopy Tours, invited me and my oldest son to experience their adventure. We went, Had A Blast, and I recommend this to everyone! We just went again in April, this time 2 of my daughters and another son went, of course we had fun!
There are plenty of hiking trails up here waiting for you: The Appalachian Trail, Benton MacKaye Trail, Aska Trails, and many more. If you want a rugged day hike, or a kinder, gentle family-friendly hike to find a waterfall, we have the hike that you are looking for.
